Expression of a modern cabin
El Barrial is a property away from the city, the noise and stress. A place where family can reconnect and relax, set in the middle of the forest on a hill with panoramic views of an infinite valley of trees and mountains of Nuevo León. Designed by Mura Design Studio it is impossible not to be captivated by the views through the large windows that characterise the architecture of the cabin, the design proposal focused on taking the exterior landscape as a priority, owning it, and bringing it inside.
The rustic style interior refers to nature and an industrial style that adapts to the basic needs of the family in a simple utilitarian way, without ever competing with landscape. The materials have been selected to achieve harmony and highlight the properties of the site. Giving life to a design of a rustic-industrial style in which natural elements such as raw wood, stone, and bare concrete predominate giving a feeling of warmth alongside colder elements such as black ironwork. The studio created spaces where rigid shapes merge into planked concrete, rectangular wooden panels, and reticulated ironwork.
Complementing them with organic shapes in the textiles, accessories, natural wood pieces, and furniture that were exclusively designed for the project taking into account the practicality and easy maintenance of each space. The architectural program of El Barrial is the expression of a modern cabin divided into two independent volumes connected only by nature, thus separating social life from private life. The first cabin focuses on social spaces and amenities under the ideology of an open floor plan. Incorporating the living room, dining room, and kitchen in the same space, in direct contact with the terrace and the pool.
