The look-out house
The Prebarco House house was commissioned by a young couple, whose only required condition was to have views of the sea, which suggested a formal challenge that involved the creation of a compact volume achieving the depth of the landscape in a single look. Designed by 2DM architects, the house is located in Litueche, Chile, the shape was designed as a single suspended volume that points dramatically to the sea just as a ship would.
The public program on the first floor allows you to go side by side with the surrounding terrine, with a more restrained look, the second floor, on the other hand, which houses the master bedroom, allows the view to get as far away as possible to achieve the desired views of Pacific Ocean. Even though the volume shape of the dwelling seem at odds with the surrounding elements, the dwelling somehow sits peacefully within the beach and bush setting.
