Dior’s floral wonderland …
Did you know I was once a florist? In a past life my partner and I created many a floral fantasy for events across Melbourne so when I saw the footage from Dior’s 2014 Spring Summer collection I was flawed! Nearing winter, a frosty chill was settling in over Paris. However, the cold weather wasn’t about to stop Dior from showcasing their Spring/Summer 2014 collection under the canopy of a blossoming floral wonderland. A series of structural metal supports joined together to create a temporary greenhouse-like structure that was erected in the center of Paris’ historical garden of Musée Rodin. Dior’s creative director Raf Simons sent the models down the blooming catwalk in paralleling techno floral prints and flower petal inspired garments. Woven then draped into the metal supports were plants of wisteria, roses, and lianas; abundantly arranged to create a dreamy tropical utopia. I can just imagine the floral aroma … heaven! Scroll down to check out the time-lapse set up to catwalk.
